In the field of regional development (reduction of environmental differences) – upon construction of new wastewater collection (48.440 km) and water supply (26.968 km) networks, the possibility to connect to the centralized system was provided: the sewerage network – 1055 dwellings, to the water supply network – 591 dwellings.

 

While implementing the contract, the services of contract administration of the project “Renovation and development of water supply and wastewater management infrastructure in Ukmergė district (Ukmergė, Šventupė, Vidiškiai, Žemaitkiemis, Taujėnai, Vepriai, Šaukava, Dainava)” were provided.

Project implementation contributes to the implementation of Sustainable Development Strategy of the Republic of Lithuania – more efficient use of natural resources and human health risk reduction, ensuring supply of healthy drinking water, complying with the EU requirements, for the residents of Ukmergė, Šventupė, Vidiškiai, Žemaitkiemis, Šaukava, Taujėnai, Vepriai, and quality wastewater treatment in Dainava village .

Upon construction of new sewage networks and connection of new users to the centralized system, pollution, going to the hydrological network of Nemunas basin with household and industrial waste water from the basin villages, will be reduced, soil and groundwater pollution and underground water pollution in the risk territory will be reduced. By connecting the residential areas that are densely populated low-rise residential areas to the centralized systems, increased access to the centralized water supply and sewage collection services, improved reliability, quality of the supplied water, increased of the level of collected municipal waste, improved the quality of services, provided for the residents, and reduced environmental pollution.

The project was implemented in accordance with the payback and accessibility principles, contributed to development of the policy on water supply and sewage disposal prices.
